The first thing I saw when I woke
up this morning at 5:30 was Fernando Vina's face
on Sportscenter. Bob Ley was interviewing Vina about his inclusion in the Mitchell Report. Vina admitted to Ley that he did use HGH in 2003 due to recurring hamstring and knee injuries which he was struggling to recover from.

Forget about playing in a dome, on the
fake grass, on real grass ( even though I
love grass stains), inside a retractable roof or even in the rain....THIS is a picture of how football is supposed to be in December.
In case you were out shopping over the
weekend and missed it, Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte admitted
to using HGH to help speed up his recovery from injuries. Anyone who has seen Pettitte pitch in the playoffs with the slo-mo replays of his elbow flailing about knows that he's always seemed right on the brink of an elbow injury or four. Here we go with the quotes from Pettitte, followed by my crit
I don't really have enough to make a
post on any of these particular thoughts, but if
I put them all together.....blamo! A full post. Let's see how this goes. If nothing else, you get a pic of a cute girl on your computer.
It seemed like Tiger Woods was trying to
have a nice little ($5.75 million purse) event to
end the year and all Hell broke loose. Kind of.
As I sit here and watch Matt Stover
miss a 44 yard field goal to keep the
hopes of the Dolphins alive in OT against the Ravens, I keep seeing commercials about Katie Couric interviewing Alex Rodriguez on 60 minutes tonight. I saw a brief clip of the interview, and Couric asked A-rod if he has ever used any PED? Without a blink, a flinch, a hesitation, an eye movement, his answer, "No." End of d
With all that was going on yesterday, with
the Mitchell Report and the Sampson post, an important
anniversary slipped my mind. This anniversary may not be important to many people, but it still reverberates around at least the southern part of Indiana. Yesterday was the thirtieth anniversary of the plane crash that killed the 1977 University of Evansville's men's basketball team.
The St. Louis Cardinals traded Jim Edmonds, the
team's longest tenured player, to the San Diego Padres
on Saturday. The Cardinals will receive minor league 3B prospect David Freese in return for the aging Edmonds. The Cardinals also sent $2 million the Padres way to complete the deal.
I just love coming up with lame headlines
like the one above. It's fun and at least
it gives me a chuckle or two early on a Monday morning. This one makes sense because Western Carolina's mascot is a Catamount and a Catamount is essentially a mountain lion and the Hoosiers kicked the living bejesus out of them, hence the reference to roaring and taming.....you get the picture.

What else can this man do? I'm not
even sure if calling him a man does him
justice. Something more along the lines of Saint, Deity, or Superman should suffice.
What a weekend
Let's go Cards!
Jacque Jones has been the most valuable player
on the Chicago Cubs for the past two months....He
is the main reason why the Cubs are in first place today. Without him.....the Cubs very well could have faded into third place in the NL Central. It's time to give the guy the respect he deserves from Cubs fans.
