The NFL Database itself will be updated at
LEAST TWICE PER DAY, most days, time permitting! This
is the original Mock Draft Database, the one that most others have modeled themselves after. It is 8 years old, and Tom and I, the original creators, bring it to you hard and fast!
So here we go, the first in a
tradition now. Here are your Capitals Three Stars of
the Week, plus Your Difference Maker of the Week. THREE STARS OF THE WEEK (Last week of December into first week of January)
Lately, it doesn’t matter if Jose Theodore, Brent
Johnson, or rookie prospect Simeon Varlamov is in goal,
the Capitals just keep winning. Tonight, it was all Jose Theodore, stopping 21 of 22 shots and picking up his 5th consecutive win to lead the Capitals to their 6th consecutive win.
Now at the end of 2008, the Mock
Draft Database has 100 mock drafts listed for the
2009 NFL Draft, already! For the first time, we are beginning to see a consensus choice for the first overall pick. We have it narrowed down to two quarterbacks: GA Matt Stafford and OK Sam Bradford.
It’s time for the DC Pro Sports Report
End of the Season Awards for the NFL and
the Washington Redskins. Read and enjoy. NFL END OF THE SEASON AWARDS Peyton ManningO-MVP: QB Peyton Manning [Colts] D-MVP: S Ed Reed [Ravens] Rookie of the Year: QB Matt Ryan [Falcons]
AT the QB … Jason Campbell seems to
be confused over why an endorsement of him as
starter was even needed. “Every year it seems to be a question around here and I don’t understand why,”
The red hot Washington Capitals laid into Buffalo,
in Buffalo, an arena where they previously were 1-7
in their last 8 appearances.
Washington led most of the game, despite playing
a second straight game without SG Caron Butler, a
two-time All Star. Once again, the team was led by the Captawn, Antawn Jamison, who led all scorers with 30 points and all rebounders with 12. He also added 3 dimes and 2 swats. Andray Blatche ...
What do you say? I think the Capitals
are absolutely loaded with goalie prospects. It all starts
and ends with the 2006 NHL draft, in which the Caps took Simeon Varlamov in the first round followed by Michal Neuvirth in the second round. Varlamov is obviously a biog part of Washington’s future, ...
Clinton Portis finished 4th in rushing yards, Santana
Moss finished 14th in receiving yards and Jason Campbell
finished 19th with an 84.3 passer rating. He did have the lowest interception ratio in the league.
Let’s start it off with Great 8. Alexander
Ovechkin was named one of the Top Three Stars
of the week by the NHL. Ovie accumulated 6 points (5 Gs, 1 Asst) in a three game spurt that left the Capitals 3-0-0 for the week and a surge to a 10 point lead in the Southeast Division. Congratulations Alex!
Four Washington Redskins players are scheduled to have
surgery within the week, though none of the procedures
is considered major.
First, Brent Johnson must be healthy again. Simeon
Varlamov was sent back to Hershey. Yesterday, Tyler Sloan
was sent back to Hershey as well, but according to Tarik, may be on his way back. Seems Karl Alzner got nailed twice int he hand, same location, and is day to day.
This is one of the few positions that
really is not in need of critical repair, modification,
or overhaul. It all starts and ends with #47, the pro bowler, Chris Cooley. Cooley had another fabulous year in the first year of a new offensive system in DC.
Brooks Laich scored twice while G Jose Theodore
stopped 23 of 24 shots to earn his 2nd
straight win and his second game allowing 2 or less goals. Theo took another step toward nailing down what was suppose to be his when he signed a two year free agent deal with the Caps in the off-season, the ...
KR Rock Cartwright averaged 28 yards on 5
kickoff returns and his final return of the game
went for 43 yards, setting the offense up in great field position to tie the game.
The Washington Capitals face off against the Toronto
Maple Leafs tomorrow at the Verizon Center. The Caps
are riding a two game winning streak, two back to back thrillers, with a 5-4 come from behind win in New York over the Rangers and a 3-2 win on Friday against Buffalo.
hope the coverage of Baugh’s death here at
DC Pro Sports Report and elsewhere in the media
has helped a new generation of Redskins fans appreciate the history of the franchise and all that Baugh did for the team, the town, and the game of football. Any Redskins website that didn’t devote ...
What the hell? #26 scored? You have got
to be kidding me, and how timely is that.
D Shaone Morrisonn took a deflected pass from a skate and boomed it past New York Ranger goalie Henrik Lundqvist to lift the Capitals to a 5-4 incredible come from being overtime winner.
Despite previous reports that free agent first baseman
Mark Teixeira would sign with the Boston Red Sox,
Teixeia followed the trail of money and other free agents to New York to play for the Yankees. The deal is worth about $180 million.
