It is getting to that time of year
that relationships between players and managements can become a
bit strained. The 10-day salary arbitration filing period began on Monday and the Brewers have six players that are expected to file. Pitchers Dave Bush and Seth McClung will be joined by young ...
Coming into the year, the tag-line for the
Milwaukee Bucks was Ready to Rise. After putting together
their best performance of the year on Saturday night by destroying the L.A. Clippers, the marketing team may be on to something.
Ryan Braun will represent Team USA in the
upcoming World Baseball Classic, slated to take place in
March. The WBC will serve as the second big stage for Ryan Braun to show his talents in six months. Braun was a major factor in the Brewers making the playoffs for the first time in 26 years in 2008.
The Milwaukee Bucks were well on their way
to picking up a great road victory in Philadelphia
on Wednesday night...until the fourth quarter rolled around. The Bucks watched their six point lead entering the final quarter disappear by shooting 2/18 and the 76ers stole the games from the Bucks, 93-88.
I realize that in Major League Baseball a
team can go for the outhouse to the penthouse
and back to the outhouse in a matter of moments. Right now, fans of the Milwaukee Brewers are acting like the outhouse is living in luxury.
The CC Sabathia sweepstakes has come to an
end, and the New York Yankees were the winners.
Actually, CC was the winner. I'm still convinced he wasn't thrilled about pitching in New York and made sure the Yankees' organization knew that so they would sweeten the pot for him. CC got a seventh year
With the weather getting much colder in Milwaukee,
my options for entertainment on a Friday night are
becoming limited. Anyone that knows anything about people from Wisconsin knows two things: we love to drink and we love to eat.
The Bucks played their worst game of the
year last night in Denver but have a chance
to make up for it tonight in Utah. Although the Bucks loss by only 9, the outcome was never in doubt. The Bucks were down by as many as 20 in the second quarter.
Mixed martial arts has always had an upward
climb in this country and right now the sport
is coming off of a series of terrible misfortunes. In a time when the sport is facing questions of legitimacy and the desire of fighters to compete, there is one man that can wipe away all the negative thinking
Sorry for the lack of updates this past
week. I've had a cold that's moved back and
forth between my head and chest and I'm just now starting to feel like myself again. I know it's now been over a week but here's my thoughts on what's all going on over at One Miller Park Way.
Milwaukee Brewers GM Doug Melvin didn't wait long
too name is new manager. In fact, Ken Macha
was Melvin's choice all along, going back as far as 2003 when Melvin first offered the job to Macha. Macha turned the job down and eventually Ned Yost was pegged as the choice.
It's now being widely reported that Doug Melvin
is willing to listen to offers for Prince Fielder
this winter. Hearing that leads me to believe that the Brewers aren't going to be players in trying to sign CC Sabathia or Ben Sheets. That leaves trading a young, power hitting first baseman to try
The UFC will make their debut in Chicago
tonight for UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote. The night
of fights will be highlighted by the main event featuring the UFC Middleweight Champion and best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Anderson Silva as he defends his title against Patrick Cote.
The Milwaukee Admirals came into their game on
Friday night with a four game losing streak and
were desperate to get a victory and some momentum to carry into the weekend. The Admirals aggressive play paid off early drawing two penalties on the Rivermen.
There's quite a bit about the Brewers to
talk about right now, so let's get right into
it: It sounds like GM Doug Melvin might just interview Willie Randolph, Ken Macha and Bob Brenly and just pick one of the three. Bobby Valentine's name continues to be floating out there but it sounds like ...
Well we know that Dale Sveum is now
out as a potential candidate to be Brewers skipper
next year and from what I've read online, not a lot of people are happy with it. Personally, I couldn't be happier that Sveum is out.
"Hooking, holding, hooking, holding. Why don't we mix
a roughing penalty in there." That was the initial
thought from Milwaukee Admirals coach Lane Lambert after a crushing 4-3 loss to the Rockford Ice Hogs in a shoot out on Saturday night at the Bradley Center.
As is usually the case with most UFC
pay-per-views, the more I know going into a fight
card, the less I really know after it's all done. I was an okay 3-2 on my predictions but was happy that several fighters I like won their fights.
After a shocking result last month that saw
UFC legend Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell get knocked out
by Rashad Evans, the UFC returns tonight with an event from Birmingham, England. In all, 11 matches are scheduled, highlighted by England's own, Michael "The Count" Bisping facing his toughest competiti
So let me ask you all a question.
If the Bucks win a game in China but
no one watches it, does it still count? I really can't imagine there were too many people around town this morning tuned into ESPN Classic to watch the Bucks triumph over the Golden State Warriors, 98-94. Surprisingly enough, ...
