Alright, I’m feeling a little antsy this year,
and I know I’m usually not one of the
crazies that spits out a mock draft prior to having more information on the players, but I’ve been asked enough already that I figured I’d just put one out there to start with.
Before I get all the angry emails, let
me preface this by saying that Parise is a
great player who is only scratching the surface of his talent. He will regularly fall in that 85- to 95-point range year in and year out. He is in his fourth NHL season so this breakout is expected.
After a solid season that saw me finish
20+ games up, I figure I might as well
give you my playoff picks as well- you know it’s been a weird season when not a single first round playoff game gives you a favored home team. Craziness!!!
The 2008 NFL regular season is in the
books and the playoffs start in a few days.
It looks like bettors finished off the NFL regular season with a pretty profitable Sunday, as many results hit for the players.
Well, the fantasy Superbowls (in most leagues) came
and went, and those of you that picked up
Dominic Rhodes and started him, those folks that kept going with DeAngelo Williams against a tough Giants defense, the guys that said hell yes to the Tarvaris Jacksons, Tyler Thigpens, and Isaac Bruces - go
Now that the Tennessee Titans’ defeated the Pittsburgh
Steelers 31-14 last Sunday, it guarantees the Titans (13-2)
are the No. 1 team in the AFC Playoffs. While their Week 17 opposition - the Indianapolis Colts (11-4) confirmed their Wild Card position with a Thursday night win over the Jaguars.
Carolina has won its last three games by
a combined score of 103-64 and are 8-2 Straight
Up and 6-4 ATS in their previous ten games. The right call was the OVER in five of their last seven games with the Panthers 2-3 both SU and ATS in their last five contests at home.
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike
Gillis today announced that the team has signed free
agent centre Mats Sundin. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Two more weeks before the playoffs folks, and
I might as well go ahead and bolster my
record in what looks like one of my best seasons ever. There are a lot of tough (tight) games heading into Week 16, a lot of teams playing for their playoff lives. If you love this game, you have to love that.
Dallas knows they can’t afford to lose a
game in the tight NFC East, even though they
are one of the strongest home teams in the NFL, winning with an average score of 28.3 to 19. Luckily, they face a Baltimore team that has given opponents 20 points-per-game on the road, compared to the 15.2 PPG at
Alright folks, I was going to try and
break the bowl season into three different sections, and
I was going to do a beautiful job doing it too. Then I decided to just go ahead and whip one hugemagnormous article with every single one of the 34 bowl games.
Understanding when, where and how to use Trout
Beads will help you hook more fish in the
rivers. To really understand a system’s secrets - how it changes in certain seasons, which fish travel through it and what hatches will happen or in which stretch of river - can take a lifetime of research and
Alright, so I’m coming off my worst week
of the year. I’ve been consistent all season with
pretty solid weeks every time out, but I stumbled into quite the little pot hole last week. I had a tough time with my dogs, and a couple close contests that didn’t have a cookie crumbling in my direction.
Dallas players, head coach Dave Tippett, and -
most notably - team owner Tom Hicks, have all
said Avery has played his last game for the Stars. But short of an outright buyout, Dallas may have difficulty getting rid of Avery and his four-year, US $15.5 million contract.
For those of you new to theRUNDOWN this
is what I do. I pick my best team
of the week, some nice plays with a few reasons to back up my picks. I’ll list a few sleepers and some guys I wouldn’t play unless I had nobody else - This is theRUNDOWN for Week 15.
The sad-sack Cleveland Browns take on the Tennessee
Titans, a favorite pick to represent the AFC in
the 2009 Super Bowl, on Sunday at LP Field.
I have 5 more picks this week, taking
the Bucs, Steelers, Patriots, Bears, and Bengals - All
my games are for Sunday's action, and all are solid picks. Lets get one more winning week in this streak!
These are the games I like for Week
15 - talk about a huge week with a
lot on the line for some big time programs - especially for the schools that are at home watching and rooting like all hell. Yes, Texas, I’m talking about you. Great games with a lot on the line this weekend, lets see if I can’t
My Week 14 sees a lot of covers
from road teams - and I’m not too sure
what to think about that after Week 13 was basically all road team. I do know that I didn’t plan it this way and it’s just the way my eyes see each individual game working out.
Just a few short weeks ago, the Vancouver
Canucks were flush with great goalies. Now, the NHL
team is so desperate for goaltending help, the Canucks’ assistant equipment manager is doing double-duty as back-up netminder in practices.
