Travis Henry Tests Positive For Marijuana - Possible 1-Year Suspension
Henry was due to come off the NFL's "Program" after Week 3, which makes the timing of this positive test ironic to say the least!!!

Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 5 -- Quarterback
Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 5 -- Quarterback
If this was last off-season and I was doing a breakdown of the Quarterback position it would have a bit more drama to it. We'd be talking about Jake Plummer coming off a trip to the AFC Championship Game now battling for his job with a Rookie quarterback the Broncos traded up to get. Yea, a lot of meat there to be sure. This year we don't have to "worry" about that and I am definitely relieved.

Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 4 -- Defensive End
Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 4 -- Defensive End
The inability of the Broncos defensive line to get to the quarterback with any consistency has been the theme to the off-season so far. A couple days ago we broke down the defensive tackles, and all the new faces on the interior. Today, it is the outside of the defensive line and who the Broncos are going to look for to get pressure on the opposing quarterback. Jim Bates has a track record of..

Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 3 -- Offensive Line
Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 3 -- Offensive Line
The Offensive Line for the Denver Broncos has become the stuff of lore. Just listen to the way other players, coaches, TV people talk about the Broncos line. The cut-block became a mainstream term in the American football conscience because of the Broncos O-Line. Add to it the groups long-standing policy of not talking to the media and these guys have taken on a super-human mystique...

Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 2 -- Defensive Tackle
Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 2 -- Defensive Tackle
On paper, and we all know what we could do with that "paper", the Broncos D-Line looks not only significantly bigger, but significantly better as well. The Broncos have traditionally kept 5 or 6 DT's on the 55 man roster. This season I am going to go with 5. The Broncos have kept 5 DT's the past 2 seasons and I see no reason to break the trend, especially with the talent they have injected...

Please Welcome Bryce Maximus James To The World!
Please Welcome Bryce Maximus James To The World!
Things may not be going to well for LeBron James and the Cavaliers on the court, but off of it the King is doing just fine, thank you. James, and longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson welcomed their second son, Bryce Maximus to the world early this morning, joining LeBron Jr. in the King's court. Savannah and little Bryce are said to being doing just fine. Now if the Cavs could just 'deliver'!

Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 1 -- Tight End
Breaking Down The Broncos -- Part 1 -- Tight End
The Broncos have always enjoyed strong Tight End play during the Mike Shanahan era. Sure, having a Hall of Fame player at the position for let's say, a decade, substantially increases productivity, but even without Shannon Sharpe the Broncos have been able to utilize their Tight End's in their offensive sets. A look, however, at the production coming from the position the past 5 seasons shows...

Change In Venue Brings Change In Attitude
I’ll be the first to admit it. I have been tough on the giys after two lackluster performances in Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals. They haven’t played well and we all know it. Give credit to the Spurs as well who did exactly what they needed to do in holding serve at home. They have played nearly flawless basketball for the most part of the last 96 minutes of game action. As bad as it was...

Cavs Learn A Lesson In Game 1
Cavs Learn A Lesson In Game 1
It’s just one game. Fold it up, put it in your pocket, and move forward. Whatever you do, don’t forget. The Cavaliers have finally played their first NBA Finals game, ever, and it showed. They started sluggish in the first quarter, and played terrible in the third, common themes this season, and though their success in the 4th quarter continued it wasn’t enough to beat the Spurs. The Cavs...

NBA Finals Preview -- Point Guards
NBA Finals Preview -- Point Guards
The only thing that you can say about Tony Parker in the 2007 NBA Playoffs is Wow. During the playoffs he has elevated his game, averaging nearly 20 ppg, 6.5 assists, 3 rebounds and a metric ton of pressure on opposing teams to keep him out of the lane. He is one of the quickest guards in the league, and he is able to push the pace and control tempo when the Spurs rebound and go....

Don't Blame James For Missing Birth
Don't Blame James For Missing Birth
I just don’t get it. Really, I don’t. I was watching Sunday when Rachel Nichols asked LeBron James what he would do if his girlfriend went into labor on game day. Savannah, LeBron’s long-time girlfriend and mother of his first son, is due on June 17th, the day Game 5 of the Finals is scheduled as well. LeBron answered, in no uncertain terms, that he had already informed his lady...

Chiefs Worried About QB Prospects
Ran into an interesting article this morning over at KC Chiefs.com regarding to pending quarterback battle in Kansas City. Trent Green, Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle are all on the current roster, and while no one really thinks Green will be there come late July there still figures to be a battle between Croyle and Huard. What does this have to do with the Broncos? Well, it is.....

 David Stern, Wussy
David Stern, Wussy
In the world of professional sports management David Stern is perceived to be the one commissioner that rules with an iron fist. The dress code, the new ball, rigging a series to benefit the Spurs by suspending crucial players from the opposition, all are directly related to David Stern. If the last week has taught us anything, however, it’s that David Stern doesn’t have the pull most of ...

It All Pays Off For Big Z
Only seconds after the Cavaliers had finished off the Detroit Pistons, just after LeBron James flung the ball high into the air and deep into the stands James jumped into the arms of one of his teammates. No, it wasn’t Daniel Gibson who had just scored a career high 31 points, 19 in the 4th quarter to lead the Cavs to the win. No, it wasn’t Anderson Varejao or Larry Hughes or Drew Gooden. ...

Cavs Shock The World, Just Not Me...
Before I talk about the Pistons collapse. Before I mention LeBron’s dominace, or how a rookie 2nd round draft pick owns Detroit, I want to remind everyone of a little something I wrote about two weeks ago. http://www.fearthesword.com/2007/05/21/cavs-v-pistons-game-1-lets-get-it-on/ My Prediction — The Cavs have learned alot the past couple of postseasons, and thier 58 wins so far this..

Chuck Norris Has Nothing On LeBron James...
Witness. A one-word tagline from last year’s playoff run. Witness. The huge shroud to LeBron James still hangs from a building in Cleveland. We Are All Witnesses it says. How true does that statement feel today. In what can only be described as one of the greatest post-season performances ever, IN ANY SPORT, LeBron James refused to let the Cavaliers lose.

Cavs Even Series Behind Boobie
Boobie. That’s all the Cavs needed, a little Boobie. Behind LeBron James and new his newest running mate, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, the Cavaliers held serve at home, winning Game 4 91-87. What looked to be a harsh education for the younger Cavs at the hands of the elder, more experienced, more poised Pistons has become something more in the span of three days, and with short turnarounds....
