I bring you six names of upperclassmen to
watch during the Sweet 16 that could be chosen
during the 2008 NBA Draft come June.Naturally, first things first. The dance continues tonight and goes through the weekend until the magical Final Four teams remain. But for NBA fans, thoughts of the draft can't be far away.
Tom Lewis takes a weekly look at the
NBA teams in the Central Division - Chicago Bulls,
Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks - and breaks down what happened the week before and what to expect in the week ahead, as well as injuries and other news items!
Brendan Sullivan takes a weekly look at the
NBA teams in the Atlantic Division - Boston Celtics,
New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors - and breaks down what happened the week before and what to expect in the week ahead, as well as injuries and other news items!
The 2008 NCAA Tournament is set to begin
this week and every college basketball fan will be
rooting for their favorite NCAA team and/or filling out a tournament office pool form. However, they won't be the only ones watching March Madness with interest. NBA fans will also be watching to get a glimpse of the future of the NBA.
The Denver Nuggets did their Six Million Dollar
Man impersonation as a team last week, playing four
games in five days! In some states, that sweatshop-type of work is illegal. However, these are millionaires we're talking about, so I guess we all won't shed a collective tear, right? Especially since one of them was named Player of the Week recently!
The Boston Celtics won a big one against
the Detroit this past weekend and we are all
witnessing the evolution of Glen "Big Baby" Davis. Read the rest of the Atlantic Division Report to see what's shakin'... and we don't mean Antoine Walker... much to Walker's chagrin. Sorry, if you don't the reference, but I'm old.
Okay, it's not nearly as important as the
upcoming U.S. Presidential voting this upcoming November, but for
hoopheads like you and I, the 2008 NBA All-Star voting almost is. Crazy? Maybe, but that's how us basketball crazies roll. So, WHO did YOU vote for?
In fantasy basketball, point guards are just as
important as they will be your main source of
assists and a significant contributor in steals, three-pointers made, and/or free-throw percentage. So, coming into the 2007-08 season, which point guard is tops for the position? I have one word for you – HIBACHI!
Well, it’s obvious that Chandler liked playing in
New Orleans as he had his best season in
his short career during his first year as a Hornet. Look at those rebounds he grabbed last season! It’s almost as if he was cleaning the glass for him AND Eddy Curry, his former Chicago Bulls teammate AKA “He’s that tall, but can’t board better?”
So, somehow, this little fantasy basketball blog of
ours was able to get into this group of
experts for some mocking. We feel we held our own and were happy to join the banter as the draft moved along.
He’s like Predator without the dreads and the
basketball and the hoop are his prey. Yup, Howard
goes in there and grabs boards like they’re Jesse “The Body” Ventura’s neck meat and attacks the rim like he’s gonna ram the rock between Arnold Schwarzenegger’s teeth gap. Smear mud all over you, opposing players in the paint, but it’s not going to matter…
Wow, can you believe that Rashard Lewis was
selected in Round 3, pick 4 last year? A
lot has changed since then - Brittney Spears is divorced, Paris Hilton was in jail, Rosie O’Donnell quit “The View,” and eventually replaced by Whoopi Goldberg. Jeez, I need to put down those gossip magazines! (ED: No doubt, woman!)
