I think if I had to put together
a 25 man roster from the present and past
Yankees, this is who I’d pick.
I know ESPN has an agenda; they want
the big ratings teams in the big bowls and
they want to talk about the teams that bring in the TV ratings, but I still hope they would have some journalistic integrity. Neither USC nor Georgia belongs in the National Championship discussion. Here's why....
A really funny article about how men on
a short leash by their wives are pulled away
from the sports they love!
As a NASCAR Nation neophyte, I am not
one to generally complain about recent NASCAR innovations such
as the Car of Tomorrow or the Chase. I understand how the CoT makes sense economically and safety-wise. As for the Chase, I’m not 100% bought in to the idea, but I understand the reasons why, and I agree that the old points system was flawed. To detractors, I’d borrow the old Bill Clinton line: ...
For all those watching the Cowboys face the
Eagles on Sunday afternoon it was pretty difficult not
to notice the beautiful Jessica Simpson watching intently from a luxury box above. Sporting a Tony Romo jersey highlighted in pink, Jessica seemed more than ready to “out” their relationship to those millions of celebrity gawkers (like my girlfriend, Betty) who have copies of US Weekly, People ...
I am getting tired of the Andy Petite’s
and Mark McGwire’s of the world, mincing words, not
answering direct questions, and acting as if they were running for President or trying to not get impeached. You would think they would have learned from the “I did not inhale” line or the “it depends on what your definition of “is” is” spiel.
It is a long season, and many times
those players and teams dominating the headlines on the
positive side early in the year are forgotten, or are dominating the headlines on the negative side by the end of the season. Regardless, we all need something to talk about for the goings on before the all-star break.
The Celtics were the talk of the off-season
with the additions of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen
to go along with their own superstar Paul Pierce. With these additions, many still thought the Celtics could not contend with the Western teams. Not only that, many questioned these guys’ ability to mold into a team and would possibly not even be the best team in the weak East, as Detroit, Miami and ...
Each week of the season brings ups and
downs, and some guys have more ups and other
guys have more downs. Here are the guys who had the best and the worst weeks in the NBA for Dec. 10-Dec. 16
Yeah I said it, and now here's why.
With Barry Bonds, it's not a question of his
stats. A career .298/.444./.607 line with 762 career HR's is more than enough to get a player elected into the Hall of Fame. It's a question of whether or not he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
No less than NASCAR sage Mark Martin once
said you should enjoy every victory as though it
were your last, for it just might be. In today’s competitive climate, winning a NASCAR race is tough enough, let alone 4 in a row like Jimmie Johnson did.
We are getting close to season end of
the college football season so I wanted to throw
out my BCS bowl predictions.
The NBA, like at no other time in
recent memory, is filled with some amazing young talent.
A few of the older players are starting to slow, like Shaq and even Tim Duncan, and the middle-aged guys (by NBA standards) are starting to get pushed by some of these younger guys coming into their own. Here's our top ten:
Missouri has finally reached the mountain top and
became the No. 1 team in the country today.
This is a feat for a college squad that no one saw having a very successful season.
Finally the Oakland Raiders have gotten that monkey
off their backs and they have won a game
within their division. Oakland hadn’t beaten anybody in their division since a 25-24 squeaker over Denver on Nov. 28, 2004, the longest ongoing streak of divisional weakness in the NFL.
Nebraska has finally decided to get rid of
their head coach, Bill Callahan, and the only question
I have is why the wait? There was no way that this man could contribute to a turnaround at Nebraska and he would only continue to hurt this once powerful dynasty.
In reality, by the looks of things we
might be able to write off the entire league.
The Patriots have been that good. It’s getting comical how quickly these games become unwatchable because of the Pats dominance.
So finally it has happened, Priest Holmes has
decided to hang up his shoes and finally retire-
I can’t say that I am all that sad about it. I think it was about time that he left, he has been used less and less through the years and a clean break will be well for him as a person.
I write this post hoping somewhere Bud Selig
is searching the Internet to get an idea of
what fans think of instituting instant replay into baseball. Bud, I beg you, vote note on instant reply.
Major League Baseball announced today that the World
Series Champion Boston Red Sox will be changing its
name. Inspired by Tampa Bay’s recent decision to drop the “Devil” from “Devil Rays,” the Red Sox will now be simply known as the Boston Sox.
