Great breakdown from Bill Chuck on the AL
MVP voting.
We all knew it was inevitable, it was
just a matter of when. I've been a Raiders
fan for a lot of year's and with that comes an admiration for what Al Davis has done with the franchise during that time. I remember the first time I saw the Raiders logo, driving past the Coliseum with my Dad...
We’re back. Last night was a tough Lakers
loss, more to come later in a Game 2
preview. For now, take a look at all the happennings around the league and the crazy talk surrounding Paul Pierce’s “supposed” injury.
Can't argue with a policy like that!
Good article from Thomas Wayne over at Dugout
Central asking if being selected in the first round
of the draft guarantees a ticket to the Majors.
Here’s the ESPN draft segment with the selection
of Catcher Buster Posey by the San Francisco Giants.
Take the 7 Train Q&A with Giants Cove
about the upcoming series between the Mets and Giants.
Great story from Headline News asking whether or
not the Los Angeles Galaxy with David Beckham are
now America’s team. Mind you this is talking about the game of Soccer not football, because we all know the Oakland Raiders are America’s team when it comes to football.

From Ted M. Green over at SportsHubLA. "I
don’t have to turn on the three or four
letter cable networks today to know they they’re all still blabbing and babbling about the end of Game 4…Lakers up two, Derek Fisher fouling Brent Barry but Joey Crawford manning up with the non-call."
Footballguys.com is easily one of the best fantasy
football site around. I’ve been going to footballguys since
2001 and the content is really unmatched anywhere else on the net. While they have many great features one of my favorites is the newsletter they send out. Every year Joe Bryant sends out his “non football” newsletter on three occasions, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day.
Great NBA draft article by Dave over at
Blazer's Edge. "There’s a bunch of talk going on
about the draft and relative weights player-to-player and year-to-year. It’s fascinating, and much appreciated too! The diversity of opinion and spirited debate make for interesting reading, especially since we’ve got people not just on both ends of a spectrum, but on most points in between."
Ready for some more Saturday night racing, this
time at Darlington Raceway for the Dodge Challenger 500.
Which means it’s another early deadline for selecting or editing drivers in the Yahoo! fantasy game, (May 9 2:00am PDT). Qualifying is 5 p.m. ET Friday and the race is 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. 45 drivers on the entry list, so only two will be sent home this weekend. This weeks recommends.
Seriously if you are a fan of any
other driver in the garage area, you have got
to feel a little bit like Jan Brady, cause it seems to be all about Junior. Except, it is not all about Junior. He could run around the track all by himself and some of you all would probably watch, but to those of us that live in the real world we all know that Junior needs the other 42 cars on the track.
n the few hours that have elapsed since
the “incident” of the closing laps of the “Guy
Whose Name I Don’t Remember Anymore” 500 at Richmond, I have surmised quite a few things. 1. I don’t even need to explain what “the incident” is. Everyone knows. 2. It is really, really not wise to attempt to defend Kyle Busch. 3. No one will remember that Denny Hamlin had the rest of the field ...
You can get a good Weekend Wrap for
the Richmond race over at NASCAR Bloggers FT Digest
with articles from, Do You NASCAR!, Rev’Jim’s RantsnRaves and Racedriven.com. Also check out how my recommends for the Yahoo! fantasy NASCAR game finished up at Richmond.
Great day of action on Saturday. Big Brown
showed he’s the real deal with a convincing win
in the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby. AP Racing Writer, Beth Harris on Filly Eight Belles. Clint Bowyer wins in Richmond, in a race Dale Earnhardt Jr. should have, no wait, Denny Hamlin should have won. I’m a Dale Jr. fan, but Denny Hamlin easily gets the hard luck award this week.
MLS round 6 — GALAXY @ REAL SALT
LAKE Saturday, May 3 — from MLSNet, “The Galaxy
defense was under pressure early as goalkeeper Steve Cronin saw his first bit of action just five minutes into the match. Espindola came racing into the penalty area and struck a high shot that Cronin swatted away and let bounce over the end line. Two minutes later Cronin met up with ...
Time for some Saturday night racing at Richmond
International Raceway! Saturday night dirt track racing is what
I grew up with here in the Pacific Northwest, so anytime the Sprint Cup series runs on a Saturday night it’s always fun to watch.
Landon Donovan scored three goals and assisted on
another, as the Los Angeles Galaxy won in emphatic
5-2 fashion against their Home Depot Center rivals Chivas USA. Alan Gordon scored a pair himself after coming off the bench, but the first SuperClasico match of the season was still a banner night for the Galaxy superstar.
