idle thoughts and a fake (hypothetical?) conversation between
Joey Dorsey and Coach Rick Adelman to discuss reasons
behind Joey Dorsey not getting any playing time for the Rockets.
yes, it's true. I actually complimented Rafer on
his basketball skills. Really.
our contribution to Kobe Bryant Blog Day -
the similarities between Kobe and Maverick are just too
striking. Kobe feels the need, the need for speed!
To get the proper perspective on what is
now a SEVENTEEN game winning streak - we go
straight to the voice of authority. Chef .
Rockets blow a big lead against Sacramento... escape
with a last second 3- point shot from Novak...
and maintain the winning streak. Inconceivable! (though I'm not sure that word means what I think it means)
The Rockets would have beat the Bulls in
the 1993 NBA Finals. It's true.
I hate the Utah Jazz. There. I said
it.
Rockets beat Blazers... in Portland. Using all three
rookies in crunch time. What a win!
Rafer Alston does not learn from his mistakes.
Unless he makes the same one six times in
the same game.
Rockets on a four game winning streak, most
recently dispatching the New York Knicks (in NY). Yao
with a vicious gorilla dunk on Malik Rose being the highlight of the game. Rockets go for five in a row on Friday!
the Houston Rockets. Married... with Children characters. Yeah,
of *course* T-Mac would be Al Bundy. But who
would Rafer be?
The Houston Chronicle published an article today praising
Rafer Alston's "improvement" and his impact on the supposedly
more consistent Rockets. It's a total puff piece and horribly inaccurate... I had to call them out.
It has been 15 years to the day
since the Houston Oilers allowed the Buffalo Bills to
complete the greatest comeback in NFL history. "35-3" will always bring up sad memories to me now.
Rockets lose to the Celtics 97-93 after a
valiant comeback after being down as much as 20
points in the first quarter. KG and the referees too much for Yao and the gang in the end.
Luis Scola was a prized offseason pick-up for
the Houston Rockets. But the team has stumbled to
a 14-15 start and the heavily-hyped foreigner has yet to get significant playing time. Why? The Rockets could certainly use more of the skills he brings to the court.
The Rockets lose to Golden State on New
Year's Eve. In the process they create (or at
least stumble upon) a formula for how not to play winning basketball. It heavily involves Rafer Alston.
Five rules, concepts and things that should be
changed to make the NBA a better league and
a better game.
Rockets v. Raptors game recap - the Rockets
run Adelman's motion offense successfully. They get into a
groove without T-Mac and beat a potential playoff team convincingly.
With all the discussion of a Kobe trade
now apparently in the past... what about McGrady? He's
been a disappointment, as have the Rockets in general. What can the Rockets reasonably expect if they did make him available? Multiple options presented.
Christmas gifts for the Houston Rockets. Even though
they have all been naughty in 2007.

Ruminations from the bench - by Joey Dorsey
