U.S.-Mexico Rivalry Returns to Columbus for First Final Round Qualifier For 2010 FIFA World Cup

For the third consecutive time in final round qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, U.S. Soccer has selected Columbus Crew Stadium to host the home leg between the United States and Mexico. The USA’s most anticipated match of the final round will be played Wednesday, Feb. 11.

2018 FIFA World Cup - update on candidates

Candidates to host the 2018 World Cup include Mexico, the United States, England, Spain, combined Netherlands-Belgium bid, Russia, Australia, Qatar, China and Japan. With the 2010 tournament being played in South Africa and the 2014 event in Brazil, a northern hemisphere venue is expected for 2018.

Sacha Kljestan key to U.S. Olympic hopes

Chivas USA and under-23 USA midfielder Sacha Kljestan was one of Chivas USA's most important players last season. The second-year man out of Seton Hall scored four goals and had 13 assists during a year which he represented the United States at Copa America.

On Friday, FC Dallas head to Brazil, where they will train with South American partner Clube Atletico Paranaense for two weeks before returning in mid-March. But before the Hoops head to South America, they will face Southern Methodist University in a preseason match on Tuesday night at Pizza Hut Park. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

(AP) David Beckham arrived in South Korea on Tuesday as Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy began a three-game Asian tour. Beckham made no comment on arrival at Incheon International Airport outside the South Korean capital. The former England captain plans to hold a news conference Wednesday.

Good video reports and articles from the local station KHOU. Wednesday night's friendly match at Reliant Stadium. Jozy Altidore made his first start for the U.S. national team and scored a go-ahead goal late in the first half, but Mexico's Jonny Magallons scored two and the match ended 2-2.

The move comes after the 44-year-old led Chivas USA to a 15-7-8 record (W-L-T) and first place in Major League Soccer's Western Conference during the 2007 regular season.
