The Milwaukee Brewers made a pre-emptive strike to
clear an upcoming logjam in the outfield by trading
Gabe Gross to Tampa Bay for right-handed pitching prospect Josh Butler. Oddly enough, Gross scored the winning run in the 12th inning as the Brewers topped St. Louis, 9-8, in 12 innings....
Gabe Gross and Kapler helped the Brewers win
in extra innings against the Cardinals to split the
2-game series. Here are some observations from the game today...
2B Rickie Weeks SS J.J. Hardy LF Ryan
Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart CF Gabe
Gross C Mike Rivera 3B Craig Counsell LHP Manny Parra
Last year, - Corey Hart hit a home
run every 24th plate appearance - JJ Hardy hit
a home run every 25th plate appearance - Prince Fielder hit a home run every 14th plate appearance Combined, the 3 of them have ZERO home runs in a total of 169 plate appearances between them......
St. Louis - I'm still waiting to hear
from agent Scott Boras but I've heard a few
more details of the contract the Brewers are working out with free agent right-hander Jeff Weaver. I am told the minor league deal has a low base salary and could top out between $4 million and $5 million, only if he is summoned to the majors soon and hits every one of his incentives, which probably isn't ...
ST. LOUIS -- The Brewers on Tuesday were
closing on an incentive-rich, Minor League contract with veteran
right-hander Jeff Weaver, but club officials were not ready to discuss the details. "Until we get an acknowledgment to our offer, we don't have a deal," assistant general manager Gord Ash said....
The Brewers begin a three-game set (the first
of five this season) against the Cardinals tonight. I
don't think anybody expected that we'd be in second place behind St. Louis, but that team has a lot going on that the pundits didn't anticipate. I enlisted the help of Larry Borowsky (lboros) to get us up to speed. Larry runs Viva El Birdos, one of the best team-specific blogs out there......
Looking at the pitching staff just 2 years
ago, it's easy to see why the team finished
75-87.
Yost needs to give Gabe Kapler a shot
at playing everyday. Here's why....

The Brewers face the Reds Tuesday night and
young arm Johnny Cueto takes the mound.
PREDICTIONS, PROHPECIES, PREMONISHIONS AND PROGNOSTICATIONS : Answers these

Looking at who will make the final spots
of the Milwaukee Brewers 25-man roster, someone has to
play Center Field while Mike Cameron is suspended. There are a variety of options including Gabe Gross, Tony Gwynn Jr., Joe Dillon, and Gabe Kapler.
This article is an ode to all of
those pseudo-sports we all love to play in backyards,
bars, and parking lots. Games such as beanbags, darts, wiffleball, and ping-pong all have a place in our sports enthusiastic hearts, but where exactly do they rank?
Which team has the edge at each position?
Overall, the Milwaukee Brewers have more talent than the
Chicago Cubs for each team's projected lineups and starters.
No particular order... my picks for overpaid players
in the N.L. Central. Based on this year's production
only.
Account of why Brewer fans are the best,
and will be hurt the most if they don't
make the playoffs.
Brewers third baseman Ryan Braun has been on
a tear in only 2 months in the big
leagues. He has a 1.76 OPS against lefties this year... will he continue that production or will he slump?
Brewers manager Ned Yost has made some poor
and good decisions this year at the helm of
his first-place N.L. central team. In this post to my blog I offer some praise for recent moves he has made.
I pose a few questions and answers regarding
topics that should be of great interest to Brewer
fans for the rest of the season. I will also be updating those opinions as the season rolls along by checking to see how my initial predictions look. Its a must read for every hardcore Brewer follower.
