Gross traded to Tampa Bay

The Milwaukee Brewers made a pre-emptive strike to clear an upcoming logjam in the outfield by trading Gabe Gross to Tampa Bay for right-handed pitching prospect Josh Butler. Oddly enough, Gross scored the winning run in the 12th inning as the Brewers topped St. Louis, 9-8, in 12 innings....

Last year, - Corey Hart hit a home run every 24th plate appearance - JJ Hardy hit a home run every 25th plate appearance - Prince Fielder hit a home run every 14th plate appearance Combined, the 3 of them have ZERO home runs in a total of 169 plate appearances between them......

St. Louis - I'm still waiting to hear from agent Scott Boras but I've heard a few more details of the contract the Brewers are working out with free agent right-hander Jeff Weaver. I am told the minor league deal has a low base salary and could top out between $4 million and $5 million, only if he is summoned to the majors soon and hits every one of his incentives,which probably isn't ...

I don't think anybody expected that we'd be in second place behind St. Louis, but that team has a lot going on that the pundits didn't anticipate.
