Some guys everyone in your fantasy league hates
right now - but you might end up loving
them.
Pro Football Weekly reports Alex Smith is very
comfortable with the new SF offense, which will feature
a lot of underneath looks to super-athletic TE Vernon Davis.
While Calvin Johnson is the most hyped rookie
WR, Dewayne Jarrett is a solid bet to score
the most touchdowns of any rookie WR this year.
The good news is the team still has
faith and wants Tarvaris Jackson to be their starter
this year. The bad news is, he has looked bad in games and in camp since showing some nice flashes last pre-season. A good cautionary piece to read before counting Jackson to become Childress' new "McNabb" anytime soon.
Pro Football Weekly reports Chris Simms is now
the No. 3 QB in Tampa Bay, due to
mechanical issues in the wake of his ruptured spleen. Worse still for Simms fans, Jon Gruden continues to try to coax Jake Plummer out of retirement to compete with Jeff Garcia and push Simms further down the depth chart.
Pro Football Weekly reports Donovan McNabb may be
lobbying for a trade to his hometown of Chicago.
An NFL source says McNabb feels mistreated in Philly, especially in the wake of their selection of Kevin Kolb in this year's draft, and that he "wants to be in Chicago in the worst way." PFW points out that the Bears have not rushed to extend Rex Grossman's contract beyond this year.
