The St Louis Rams, now having lost games
by a total margin of over 100 points (The
Lions are 2nd worst with a -54 margin.), are also on pace to set the record for most points allowed in a season and are close behind for most yards allowed in a season.
Sports Illustrated's pereniel World Series pick, the Cubs,
is now down 0-2 and about to be eliminated.
SI opened the MLB season with a cover that said something queer in Japanese the turned out to be "It's Going to Happen." Not. Here's a compilation of some of SI's greatest Cubs pandering covers.
RJ Anderson of D-Ray's Bay has been blogging
about the Devil Rays, and now the Rays have
finally made the playoffs! His thoughts on the Rays making the playoffs?
The Phillie Phanatic? Stomper the Elephant? The New
College of Florida Null Set? What's with these strange
mascots? Here are their stories.
Three times in 39 seasons. That's why the
city of Milwaukee is so happy about the Brewers
making the playoffs. First time since 1982. This really means a lot to them.
Danny LeDonne, creator of the controversial video game
Super Columbine Massacre, says that football may have been
a factor in the tragedy. He says that football is a representation of America's violent culture and that we glorify athletes too much. And he made this game that is violent...
Alabama is taking on Georgia in a matchup
of top 10 SEC teams. Alabama is beating Georgia
at home, 10-0. Follow the game live here.
Michigan and Illinois got killed by USC in
the past 2 years in the Rose Bowl, and
now that USC lost, we will get to see another Big 10 team fall flat. USC had 633 yards against the Illini last year, and they already crushed OSU this year. Wells can't save them.
Scott Jacobs and Mitchell Blatt of Juiced Sports
Blog are joined by Neil Joshi of The Sports
Lounge for tonight's live blog of the Packers-Cowboys game. 2 undefeateds, and now we get to see how good the Packers really are against a good team. Join us if you want to comment in the blog.
College football has introduced 2 new bowl games
this year: the EagleBank Bowl, and the St Petersburg
Bowl. The EagleBank Bowl matches up Navy with the #9 ACC team. (I can't wait, either.) To put things in perspective, there are 68 spots in bowl games, and there were 71 teams eligible last year.
JSB is covering every minute of USC vs
Ohio State and readers can comment as well. It's
an ongoing dialogue about the game.
Now that the elitist New England snob Brady
is gone for the season, we must cut our
rejoicing short. Favre, the unretiring, crying, bitch may win the division. That could be just as bad.
"Matt Cassel is no Tom Brady. The Patriots
are not a Super Bowl caliber team without the
2007 NFL MVP. In fact, if Brady’s injury (which I should stress is not known at this point) is serious, I’d be the first to argue that the Patriots aren’t good enough to even make the playoffs."
East Carolina over the past 5 years: 03:
1-10, 04: 2-9, 05: 5-6, 06: 7-6, 07: 8-5.
Now they've beaten Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Good job, guys.
Chris Collins. asked Kobe a sequence of q
and a's that were to some unpatriotic. He at
first asked how Kobe felt to be a member of the Olympic team. Kobe = honored, in awe of the jerseys. CC seemed kind of surprised, so he asked, “Is that a ‘cool’ thing to say, in this day and age? That you love your country, and that you’re fighting for the red, white and blue? Seems like a day gone by."
In this year's presidential election, basketball players like
LeBron and Oden have been supporting Barack, but McCain
seems to be establishing a powerbase among football players. John Elway is the latest big name to support him, donating $2,300 to McCain and $600 to the Republican National Committee.
Sports Illustrated publishes an article saying not enough
baseball players are black and the whole article focuses
on David Price being BLACK, not on how talented he is. Maybe we should have an article on Tyler Hansbro titled, "Young, Gifted, and WHITE." If SI thinks blacks in baseball is a problem, look at whites in basketball.
Sources say the trade will be done by
the end of the day. Who will it be:
Angels or Diamondbacks? Probably Angels.
InGameNow blog says that the only reason Griffey
hasn't been criticized more for his throat slashing gesture
is the fact that he's black. Reverse race-baiting, my friends! Milton Bradley would be demolished by criticism if he did that. Griffey just has a better reputation.
Check out this gem of a quote: “I
don’t have any preferences. I could choose a team
that offers me the best conditions or one in the chase for the postseason. I don’t care where I play, I can even play in Iraq if need be. My job is to play baseball.”
