It would be easy to jump on the
bandwagon and make fun of Charles Barkley for not
knowing what a blog is but what’s the point? Sure in an interview on TV he compared his golf game to a blog saying, “My game is like a blog”. He later admitted he had no clue what a blog “but it don’t sound good.”. I’m pretty sure Chuck knows exactly what a blog is, just not by name. He is one of the ...
Barry Bonds, facing eventual Cy Young Award winner
Jake Peavy, flied out to center fielder Brady Clark
for the third out in the 6th inning of an 11-3 loss to the San Diego Padres. Seems pretty innocuous, considering the never ending list of accomplishments and accolades Bonds had compiled in his career. But it was significant. The date was September 26, 2007, and it was the last at-bat of ...
TheDirty.com army sure has a way of uncovering
dirt lately. Their most recent target: Kobe Bryant. TheDirty.com
is alleging that Kobe Bryant had a “torrid affair” with Lakers Girl, Vanessa Curry. TheDirty.com sent us this message to alert us to the news:
Well this one is just a shocker!! This
has been all over the news locally and many
are up in arms, over the ASU Cheerleading Squad getting the axe after “racy” photos appeared on TheDirty.com. Racy Photo of ASU Cheerleaders The most shocking part of this whole story, is that even though only 6 members of the squad were posing in the “racy” pictures, the ENTIRE squad got cut. It just ...
Well…this video just pretty much says it all
for Suns fans. Same Shit. Different Season. It’s all
over and the 2BigBaldGuys bring us this vid to close out the season…
Once again a season that began with great
expectations ended with an early playoffs exit. For the
third time in the last four years the San Antonio Spurs eliminated your Phoenix Suns from the NBA post season. This time it was 4-1 as the Spurs beat the Suns 92-87 in San Antonio to advance to the second round.
Ever want to beat up Tim Duncan, Manu
Ginobili or Tony Parker? Well we here at AZSH
have now given all of Planet Orange the chance to take down these cheaters. Hey..we gotta be able to enjoy this matchup somehow…
Once again, the Suns game into San Antonio
firing at all cylinders. They looked good. They looked
poised. They looked like a bunch of ticked off, slighted, emotionally-driven avengers who had nothing but victory on their agenda. And then the first half ended. Going into half time leading the Spurs 61-54, the Suns carried the lead and momentum. They were positioning themselves for a solid ...
According to Forbes Magazine Phoenix is the 4th
most miserable sports city in America. That’s right the
“Valley of the Sun” the place where everyone wants to retire and everybody loves to be from October through April is apparently miserable when it comes to its sports teams.
San Antonio’s Big Three led the Spurs past
the Suns 102-96 in game 2 of the first-round
playoffs series. San Antonio now leads the best-of-seven series 2-0. Tony Parker had 32 points and 7 assists, Tim Duncan scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds while Manu Ginobili added 29 points off the bench for the Spurs.
Last year we had MIMS Remix: The Phoenix
Suns Are Hot… This year we have a new
Suns Song….and its not half bad either. The chorus is kind of catchy…now its not going to give MIMS a run for the money, but this is a well produced song. Check it out:
The News: Chris Young and the Arizona Diamondbacks
came to terms on a deal that will keep
him patrolling centerfield for the Dbacks through the year 2013 with a team option for 2014. It is believed to be worth $28 Million dollars and is similar to the six year, $31 million deal the Rockies stud short stop Troy Tulowitzki received earlier this year. The Take:
Our Youtube find of the day. It is
a commercial produced by the NBA. Pretty impressive and
has to get you fired up for the potential Suns/Lakers, Shaq/Kobe match up.
I began writing a post about Boris Diaw
and his mysterious ability to turn it on and
off, with a primary focus on the switch being cemented in the off position this year. The title was “Strange Case of Boris and Doris.” For all you literature majors out there, you’ll recognize my clever nod to Stevenson’s “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.” Not all that funny, I know.
Looks like Shaq will be continuing his volunteer
work with police, this time in Tempe. If the
chain restaurants and overall corporate atmosphere wasn't enough to make you stay away from Mill Ave., perhaps a 7'2" 330 or so pound police deputy will be.
The players came over to slap hands with
the student-section. One by one the players ran by,
but it was Jeff Pendergraph’s face that said it all. The previous two seasons Pendergraph had suffered through consecutive losing season with ASU. While he was certainly disappointed the Sun Devils were left out of the NCAA tournament, he was clearly ecstatic to finally feel like the big dog.
The Suns overcame a season-high 27 turnovers (9
by STAT and 6 by Nash) to beat the
Sonics in Seattle, 110-98 or, in the words of Steve Nash “We were just sloppy and tired and I think everyone wanted it to be easy“. It was not of course. Seattle had the lead, for the first time in the game, 78-77 in the third quarter but an 11-0 run by Phoenix, sparked by Raja from the perimeter, ...
Arizona State was left out of the tournament.
They likely lost their spot when Georgia took down
Arkansas for the SEC title. The toughest thing to swallow were the seeds Oregon (9) and Arizona (10) landed. That showed the committee didn’t even view us as close to those two teams, despite finishing ahead of them in Pac10 play.
After a tremendous start, a disappointing end, and
a few questionable calls in more ways than one,
ASU’s remarkable turnaround season ends short. To add insult to injury, their in-state rival and arch nemesis, Arizona, whom they defeated twice this season for the first time in over a decade, actually made it into the dance by the skin of their teeth.
Well, what a difference a week makes. A
week ago, going into a pivotal game against the
hated Spurs (Sterns), the Suns were a team in disarray, having just blown a 9-point lead going into the 4th quarter against the Jazz, and getting outscored 41-24 in the quarter. Including that game, they had lost 4 of 5, and were just 3-6 with Shaq in the lineup. The Spurs were on the horizon, as was the possib
