2008 Detroit Tigers: The Heat is On

 
2007 Record: 88-74   Key Additions: Miguel Cabrera, Dontrelle Willis, Edgar Renteria, Jaque Jones Key Losses: J.D. Durbin, Omar Infante, Andrew Miller, Jair Jurrjens, Cameron Maybin, Mike Rabelo, and many other prospects. The time is now for the Detroit Tigers. Dave Dombrowski has sold the farm for this team to win the World Series, and bash everybody into submission along the way. After failing to reach the playoffs a year after cruising to the World Series in 2006, Tigers management has decided to push ahead and try to cash in now before time runs out on this roster. To do this they made some bold moves during the off-season that have the baseball world practically crowning them before they take the field. The acquisitions of Miguel Cabrera, Dontrelle Willis, Edgar Renteria and Jaque Jones all add to an already powerful major league roster. The amazing part of this is that all of these additions came at virtually no expense from last year’s active roster.  ... (link)
