2009 Jayhawk Recruiting: Chris Omigie Commits to Kansas

 
Martin High School (Arlington, TX) standout wide receiver Chris Omigie became the 20th known commitment to the University of Kansas.  Omigie, a three-star prospect, is rated the 87th-best receiving prospect in the nation by Scout and was a member of Rivals' AMP Sleeper Team.  Omigie chose KU over Ole Miss, Nebraska, Purdue, Washington State, Iowa, Baylor, and Buffalo. Omigie is listed at 6'5", 185 lbs.  He will need to add bulk to be competitive at the FBS level.  He has a great frame and should have no trouble carrying around 210 pounds without sacrificing any speed or mobility.  The Arlington, TX product came out of nowhere between his junior and senior seasons.  As a junior he produced 14 receptions for only 199 yards and one score.  As a senior, his production improved almost 500 percent.  In 2008, he had 55 catches for 937 yards and nine scores.  Omigie is still very raw as a receiver.  He has good hands and uses his body ...
