The 5th seed contenders in the Eastern and Western Conference squared off tonight in an overtime duel. The San Jose Sharks extended their win-streak to 7 games, while hosting the struggling Ottawa Senators at the HP Pavilion Area tonight, winning in OT 3-2. The win for the Sharks now puts them 38-21-8 for the season, and 4th seed overall in the Western Conference with 84 points-one point ahead of the Anaheim Ducks. Meanwhile, the Sens have been struggling of late, still clinching on to that 5th spot in the East. With their 7th loss tonight in their last 10 games, Ottawa went from the -team-to-beat in the east, to a team fighting for a playoff berth. A main reason for the Sharks hot-streak, has been white-hot Jonathan Cheechoo. He has recorded 16 goals since January 15th. Only second to Alex Ovechkin, with 21. Jonathan scored his 20th goal of the season tonight, to put the Sharks into overtime tonight. San Jose captain Patrick Marleau stepped up and scored the game-winning goal in ...
