9 Knee Jerk Reactions to the Start of College Football

The Trojans stomped on UVA like they were an FCS team. But come on, who didn't expect that? It was somewhat refreshing, watching a true powerhouse team come into Charlottesville, Va., and show them what a real college football program is about. Over the past few seasons, the ACC has gotten weak. I can remember not to long ago that Virginia Tech was not somebody you wanted to see on your schedule. Clemson does have a good football program and has produced a pretty good number of NFL caliber players (Brian Dawkins is an example). So how can you deny that USC kicked the crap out of a superior team than East Carolina? Or Clemson? USC does not deserve to be No. 1 yet. I have no doubt they would have been able to get there at some point later in the season, but Georgia and Ohio State did win big, too, including a shutout by Ohio State. Last season, UVA lost to Wyoming 23-3. They barely beat UNC Chapel Hill 22-20. They beat Middle Tennesse State 23-21 and then beat UConn 17-16. None of those ... (link)
