A-Rod's postseason has ring of redemption to it

 
NEW YORK — As soon as the last out was made, Alex Rodriguez ran to his teammates at the mound. The first embrace was with Mark Teixeira, then A-Rod joined the circle of Yankees. Jumping up and down, hugs all around for the World Series champions. It's been a long time coming for A-Rod, but now he can call himself a champion. Rodriguez broke from the group briefly and doubled over, head down, knees to the ground. He wanted a second to reflect on a season that started as badly as a season can—with an admission he used steroids and hip surgery that could have ended the season before he played a game.   "A lot of people were running the other way," Rodriguez said. "My teammates and coaches and organization stood right next to me and now we stand together as world champs. I couldn't be happier."
