A few post-minicamp thoughts

 
Thoughts and observations as we head into the post-minicamp phase of the offseason: • Chad Pennington vs. Kellen Clemens will start to heat up. Based on their offseason, the Jets fancy themselves as a win-now team and, on paper, Pennington is a better win-now quarterback than Clemens. But, make no mistake, Pennington will have to win by knockout. A draw goes to Clemens, whose arm opens up a different dimension for the offense. • From what I hear, RB Danny Woodhead (Chadron State), WR Paul Raymond (Brown) and DE Kenwin Cummings (Wingate) were the most impressive undrafted free agents in the rookie minicamp. • Be honest, does anybody know anything about Wingate? FYI: It’s a small private university in North Carolina. Nickname: the Bulldogs. Cummins is a Division-II all-American who also drew interest from the Chiefs and Ravens. • Hofstra OL Shawn McMackin, who signed a free-agent contract after impressing in the rookie minicamp, created a few ripples in the ...
