Lost in all the big news of the past day was the fact that Chien-Ming Wang pitched brilliantly against the Indians. He’s now 5-0, which is remarkable. True, he’s had a few shaky starts this year, but yesterday’s game was about as good as it gets.
As for Roger Clemens, if he did indeed have an affair with Mindy McCready, starting when she was only 15, he’s about as bad as it gets. Look, I don’t expect most of these athletes to stay faithful to their wives. But messing around with a 15-year-old girl isn’t just immoral, it’s illegal. And disgusting.
Also, if these allegations against Clemens are true, then so much for him wrapping himself up as a family man with that family plan. Is there anything sincere about the Rocket? Good grief.
