The Detroit Pistons Friday night 106-95 win over the undefeated Los Angeles Lakers is the first true glimpse of what these Allen Iverson era Pistons may be capable of.
Over the last week, Detroit has been struggling to get into a rhythm with their new lineup. Their defense has been lackadaisical and their offense has been non-existent. Richard Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace have particularly struggled with the change of guard. However, none of these problems were apparent in last night's win.
The Pistons had control from the start of the game and were ahead by nine points at halftime. Chemistry was not a problem as Iverson appeared to have been playing in Detroit his entire career. Rasheed Wallace had the best game of his season with both he and Iverson finishing with 25 points. Wallace did a great job of containing L.A.'s Pau Gasol. Hamilton still struggled with his shooting but started to turn things around in the second half.
