Color Michal Rozsival relieved. And ecstatic.
The 29-year-old defenseman desperately wanted to return to the Rangers. And he’s about to make it official by signing a four-year deal worth $20 million.
“It’s probably done, if somebody doesn’t do something really stupid,” Rozsival joked a couple of minutes ago. “I’m thrilled. I’m really, really excited about it - that Glen decided to call me, even if it took a little bit into free agency.
“Basically, I was hoping that he was going to do it. And I’m glad he did. I’m just excited to be staying with the organization that gave me a chance three years ago when nobody wanted me.”
Rozsival said his surgically-repaired left hip muscle is healing and should allow him to resume strenous workouts in a couple of weeks. “It feels better now,” he said.
