A's ink Sweeney to Minor League deal

Veteran Mike Sweeney, who spent 13 years in the Royals organization, signed a Minor League contract with the A's on Sunday. Sweeney played in 74 games, batting .260 with seven homers and 38 RBIs last season, limited because of back and knee injuries.
