Shocker - Kei Igawa stunk up the joint Friday night. As I told the Dos Amigos radio guys during my weekly interview, if he’s the answer, I don’t want to know the question! I still don’t understand why Brian Cashman went after him.
The worst thing about Igawa, other than him being a terrible pitcher, is how clueless he came across to the media about how he pitched.last night. He said :
The lefthander was a bit delusional after the game, praising his command of the changeup and slider, saying his only problem was the inability to strike anybody out. “The result is part of baseball,” Igawa said through his interpreter. “It can happen in any game at any time. The next thing I would like to work on is getting more strikeouts.”
On the other hand, Darrell Rasner was terrific for the second outing in a row for the Yanks this year. I agree with Derek Jeter that he works a lot like Jon Lieber (and speaking of head-scratching decisions, I still don’t ...
