A Thank You Letter to Tiki Barber

 
Dear Tiki, I always knew you would help lead the New York Giants to a Super Bowl title. You had some great playing years and came oh so close so many times. Now through retirement, you were able to do what you couldn’t do as a player. By quitting the team you allowed for Eli Manning to finally take over as leader by default. But you didn’t stop there. You knew it would take more than that to get Big Blue a title. So, you wrote a book blasting your team and coaches which was released to book shelves at the start of the NFL season. That might have been enough, but just to ensure the Giants success, you leaked out excerpts of the book so now the media would be even more critical of Eli and coach Tom Coughlin. As for on the field play, your absence allowed for the Giants to go running back by committee and not have to rely on just one back. Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Jacobs, and Reuben Droughns each had big opportunities to shine and because of that, defenses did not exactly know which ... [link]
