A Trip to Wrigley Field Reveals American Pride in Sports

As this is my first post, I thought I would just take a look back at how different sports are today than they used to be in order to get things started. As our world changes, so do its recreational activities.  We have scandals, drugs, violence, greedy fans and employees, and even violence in sports.  Not that there is still a great deal of pride in American sport, but think back to decades ago. It was ALL about the pageantry, a father taking his son out to the ball game for $0.50, and playing Little League for fun.  Parents were not all about their child making the 5-year-old all star team. Tonight, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a Cubs game and sit in the bleachers in right field, the section that seats the famous "bleacher bums." It was evident that the spirit of sport (although not always in its most sober and polite form) was present.  There was that feeling of being around friends and family, which most would agree makes the American sports experience ...
