The Atlantic Coast Conference is certainly the most interesting league in 2008. Though college football is always spontaneous and filled with surprises, the ACC has no surprise teams or wins this season. Instead, the entire conference is shocking with nine contenders and no one that wants to step up and claim it.
Maryland
The Terrapins gave themselves a leg up in the ACC with a win over North Carolina 17-15. To this point, Maryland does not like the state of Virginia, as they have lost to both Virginia Tech and Virginia. Coach Friedgen has his team in the driver’s seat, but can they close out their last two games against Florida State and Boston College?
Florida State
The Seminoles would have helped its position tremendously with a win over Boston College, but apparently the Eagles had a different idea. The Seminoles lose at home 27-17 to Boston College with only Maryland left in the ACC schedule. Florida State currently has a 4-3 record in the ACC.

Beating ranked teams never made Terps fans so queasy.
