Georgia Tech shuts out Duke with a strong second half. Miami and FSU play a classic in a monsoon. And Maryland does not show up against Virginia. Florida State 41, Miami 39 Scientists are still trying to figure what exactly FSU is using to win these games, but they are calling it a running game, which is a foreign term in Tallahassee. Antone Smith rushed for four TDs, including the game clincher to lead FSU to their third win in the last four games against Miami. FSU was blowing Miami out 24-3 at half, but the Canes rallied to within two in the fourth quarter. I was surprised by how poorly the defenses played in this one, especially tackling. FSU has some momentum now, and it looks like Christian Ponder will assume the main QB role. Meanwhile, Miami needs to find a game where they can put it all together. Not a great week of predictions
