Alonzo Mourning Interview: "I'm Retired"

On December 19, Alonzo Mourning tore the patella tendon in his right knee and a quadriceps tear in the same leg while attempting a block in the first period of the Hawks game. The injury has sidelined Mourning, who announced in July that the 2007-08 season would be his last. HEAT Insider sat down with him to discuss his injury, the possibility of returning for another season and life after basketball.

In the NBA, this is about as close as you can get to a double header. ~ Upholding an appeal by the Miami Heat, the NBA has scheduled Miami and Atlanta to play a "do-over" of the final 51.9 seconds of their December 19 game. ~ The Hawks led 114-111, when Shaq fouled out with less than a minute remaining in overtime. In that game , Shaquille O'Neal fouled out with 51.9 second left in overtime. Except he'd only committed five fouls.
