Amare Stoudemire Unhappy in Phoenix: Should the Warriors Try to Rent Him?

 
According to several reports, Amare Stoudemire is not enjoying life without Mike D'Antoni. Stoudemire supposedly wants to play a larger role in the offense, and be treated as the number-one option. Stoudemire is one of the potential marquee free agents in the 2010 offseason, and will certainly be sought after. After all, while older than LeBron and Bosh, Amare is only 26, and will still be well in his prime in 2010. Amare to Golden State in 2010 is a ridiculous proposition, especially in light of the Crawford trade and Jackson extension. But what if the Warriors traded for Stoudemire before then? Why would this make any sense at all? Amare would the focus of the highest-scoring team in the league. He'd pile up dunks, layups, points, and rebounds. And he wouldn't have to play defense. He could opt-out and join the Great Free Agent Frenzy of 2010 after just two years. Or, he could join Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins to form We Believe 2.0—very unlikely, but you never know.
