Les Krantz has almost too many Yankee Stadium memories to mention, and he grew up in St. Louis. But the sights, sounds, smells and incredible baseball events in the Bronx resonated halfway across the country, and Krantz has captured all of them in a new book commemorating 85 years of Yankee Stadium history that will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2008 season.

Yankees PA announcer Bob Sheppard, who is recovering from health issues, said he will not be able to make it to Opening Day this year , the final opener at Yankee Stadium. It's ashame, the place really isn't the same without him.
