Are the Jets eyeing Kevin Smith?

 
Not quite sure what this means, but it’s intriguing nevertheless. Central Florida RB Kevin Smith, who rushed for an NCAA-best 2,567 yards last season, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he promised not to reveal the identities of two teams that gave him private workouts. Smith said the two teams swore him to secrecy. Said Smith: “If I could tell you I would, but I don’t want to mess up their promises to me by breaking my promise to them.” I’m sure you’re wondering, “How does this pertain to the Jets?” Well, in 2005, the Jets and 49ers made similar promises to Miami RB Frank Gore, the newspaper said. The 49ers selected Gore with the first pick in the third round, which turned out to be a brilliant decision.
