The Red Sox have had it with Manny Ramirez. Despite the left fielder being a future hall of famer and having over 500 homers, they can't stand the 'Manny being Manny' saga. In Friday's 1-0 loss to the Yankees, he took himself out of the lineup for no particular reason.
In the past, Terry Francona and Red Sox management would bend over backwards to excuse Manny's weird and unbelievably strange acts. This may be the final straw. After making a huge fielding blunder in a 6-1 loss turning a bloop single into a triple, Manny was reemed by Francona during a meeting.
The next day, he was up with two men on and looked at three pitches, striking out. After being asked why he took himself out of the lineup, Manny said he had a sore knee. That could be true, but it could be another one of Manny's dumb antics.
He took an MRI and was clean. Francona and GM Theo Epstein are extremely frustrated about him taking himself out of the lineup because of a alleged fake injury.
