Argentina defeats Brazil, advances to Gold Medal game

 
Argentina took an early lead over Brazil in the Olympic semi finals game and closed the game 3-0. Lionel Messi played a brilliant game. They will face Nigeria in the Gold Medal Game. I picked Argentina to win the Gold at the beginning of the Olympics. Brazil just didn't have it today. They were shorthanded when the game ended. Two fouls on Javier Mascherano, Liverpool will be excited to have him on the pitch. Ronaldinho still seemed a little slow and timid, but showed signs that he maybe fit. It may take him another week or two to get his groove back. Messi on the other hand, I can't say enough, he is in mid-season point. I guess he has something to prove after missing some games last year due to injury. The story behind the game is Brazil has yet to win a Gold Medal in the Olympics in Soccer given their dominance in the World of Soccer. Argentina will have the opportunity to win a gold in two consecutive Olympics, it's been 40 years since someone repeated at the Olympics. The Nigerians look ... (link)
