Arizona's Davis pronounced cancer free

Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Doug Davis said he has been pronounced cancer free after a sophisticated test showed no spread of the disease.
Davis said he got the news from surgeon Dr. Bob Evani, who removed the pitcher's cancerous thyroid gland on April 10.
"The cancer did not spread and it will not spread from here on out," Davis said Thursday.
He underwent a "nuclear CT scan," which would detect any spread of the disease.

I am not sure if you can call the D-backs recent 5-5 homestand a slump, but if so a good portion of the blame has to fall on Eric Byrnes, whose recent struggles certainly qualify as a slump. Byrnes is batting only .232 on the year, and with 3 stolen ...Diamondbacks' Davis is cancer-free
