With its Premiership title hopes hanging in the balance, Arsenal went to Chelsea ’s Stamford Bridge and snatched three crucial points to remain in the title hunt. Dutch forward Robin van Persie scored two second-half goals. The second of which all but knocked the wind out of the Chelsea supporters. His two goals came within a three-minute span.
The brace now gives van Persie seven league goals on the season. Emmanuel Adebayor has five, summer transfer Samir Nasri has four, and Samba midfielder Denilson has two league goals. Is this enough offensive firepower to win the Premiership?
Chelsea had 16 shots, but only two were on goal. The club remains in first with 33 points, but Liverpool will play tomorrow against West Ham.
Arsenal sit fourth in the table with 26 points. The club has five losses on the season, and will likely be out of the title chase with another loss.
