PITTSBURGH -- As tough as the Cubs' remaining schedule appears to be, their just-concluded nine-game stretch against last-place teams might have been just as daunting for the potential letdown factor. And the Cubs survived the Cincinnati-Washington-Pittsburgh trap door with a 7-2 record.
