After seven years as a big mucky muck at my company, I got laid off today.
The "In-Human Resource Lady" said something about "economic climate" and "severance pay."
The Senior VP, an even bigger mucky muck than me, looked like he didn't sleep last night.
He looked terrible.
I slept like a baby.
I looked great.
I'll sleep tonight too, and I'll look even better tomorrow.
The CEO or CFO or UFO, or whatever O he is, looked like he had an ulcer. I think I heard his stomach make a big fart noise right after he said, "trim the fat."
The department that I used to run is now being run by a kid about half my age. I wasn't let go due to my age, however. They gave me a piece of paper that showed the age of other people who were laid off. So I know it was "simply a business decision."
They did a statistical analysis to make sure that an equal number of old, young, white, blacks, Hispanics, midgets, gays, and special needs people were laid off. Or so I suspect. It's politically correct to do ...
