Bats, Beckett carry Sox to series win

The Red Sox won their four-game series against the Tigers with a 5-1 win on Thursday night in front of 38,952 at Comerica Park. In the process, they finished their regular-season series with the Tigers, taking five of seven games.

Josh Beckett went 7 strong innings and Kevin Youkilis hit his 3rd home run in 2 days to help the lead the Boston Red Sox past the Detroit Tigers 5-1 in front of 38,952 at Comerica Park.
