Bears Have Void at Left Tackle as Prized Rookie Undergoes Back Surgery

 
The Chicago Bears thought they were getting a longtime fixture at left tackle when they used a first-round draft pick in April on Chris Williams. But Williams underwent surgery Wednesday to have a herniated disk in his back repaired, and his status for his rookie season is unclear.
