Bleacher Creature Top 25 CBB Poll: Week Five, Better Late Than Never

Fifteen B/R writers ranked the top 25 teams in the country. Last week's poll featured UNC as the top ranked team, and the same would go for this week. UNC needs to lose, I'm running out of Tar Heels to make the default picture of the rankings. If you would like to participate in the B/R Top 25 poll, email me at jsflemin@syr.edu. In your email, rank your top 25 teams, but also provide the link to your B/R profile. Voting will open for next week's poll on Friday, Jan. 2 and will close Sunday, Jan. 4 at 11 PM EST. The rankings reflect the outcome of games up to Sunday, Dec. 28. No comments this week as the few I had typed up are now out-dated. Firefox or B/R or something behind the scenes was preventing me from selecting a photo for about two days; therefore, it wouldn't let me publish it. So sorry for the delay.   Rank, Team, (First Place Votes), Total Votes , (Rank Last Week) 1. North Carolina (14) 373 (1) 2. UConn (1) 357 (2) 3. Oklahoma 339 (4) 4. Pitt 338 (3)  ... (link)

unc5corners.blogspot.com 1/1/2009 — When you read some stats about top ranked North Carolina (13-0) you find out that they're beating teams by an average of close to 27 points per game and have only scored under 80 once this season. So, when Carolina beat Nevada (7-6) by 23 points, 84 to 61, those stats do make sense.
