Bloody Mouth for Manu but Stack Plays on...

 
I read on article online about the NBA choosing not to review Jerry Stackhouse's body slam on Spurs guard Manu Ginobili. This would have just irritated me but then I thought about the NBA's choice to suspend Bruce Bowen for supposedly intentionally kicking Hornets point guard Chris Paul. The incident occurred following a foul call on Paul with 5:15 remaining in the third period of the Spurs' 100-75 loss to the Hornets on Wednesday, March 12 at New Orleans Arena. Not only did Bruce Bowen miss a big game for the Spurs against the Pistons without pay, he also had his 500 consecutive game streak snapped. How can the NBA be quick to suspend Bowen on a very questionable "kick" but choose not to review a play where a man was slammed and bleeding from the mouth. I think the NBA felt that they were somehow obligated to suspend Bruce Bowen because of his past but it does not justify ignoring what Stackhouse did.
