Bluegrass Football Report Week 10: Louisville, Kentucky Going Opposite Ways

 
The Louisville Cardinals started the 2008 season depleted and defeated, but Scott Long's return from a foot injury suffered just days before the Kentucky game last August might have finished a full 180 the Cardinals started in a 27-2 loss against Kentucky and finished in a 24-20 upset of South Florida. Long was Louisville's leading returning receiver, catching balls in 12 games last year for 358 yards.  The junior receiver was looking to have a breakout season until surgery was needed for a broken bone in his foot. Long saw time against Middle Tennessee State but never broke through the way he finally decided to against South Florida last Saturday.  Two touchdowns and 134 yards receiving were both career highs for a rejuvenated Cardinal offense. But Long isn't the only returning receiver making an impact.  Trent Guy has fully recovered after being shot in the back outside a Louisville nightclub this past summer.  Guy returned a kickoff for a touchdown against ...
