Bobby G watching Big East opener from hotel room

Seton Hall coach Bobby Gonzalez will sit out tonight's Big East opener against Syracuse as a result of a league-mandated one-game suspension following the temporary insanity he was involved in when he criticized the officials at the end of last year's game against Rutgers. Gonzalez has been on his best behavior with officials so far this season, so let's hope we can all put this behind us after tonight. Gonzalez traveled with the team to the 'Cuse and ran the shootaround, but he won't be allowed in the Carrier Dome. He says he'll watch the game on TV from his hotel room while assistant Dermon Player coaches the game from the bench. Player will be shorthanded for his coaching debut. The Hall will be missing 6-9 John Garcia for a fourth straight game with a knee injury, giving the Pirates' front court a much smaller look. (link)
