It might be safe to say that Jon Lester is the new ace of the staff.
Earning his 12th victory of the season over seven innings of work, he allowed just four hits and one run while striking out five in the win over Baltimore.
Jason Bay homered twice in the victory, belting a solo-shot in the second and a two-run homer in the eighth inning.
Star of the Game: Lester
Again, Lester dominated opposing hitters. I feel he is the ace of the staff this year. Debate all you want.
Next Game: Team we should beat
This Orioles team is a team we should beat. If they do not sweep I would be surprised here.

Boston Red Sox News & Notes - 8/19
soxanddawgs.com 8/19/2008 — All season long, the Red Sox have really been able to count on one pitcher, Jon Lester. While Josh Beckett may be the “ace” of the staff and Daisuke Matsuzaka has 14 wins, Lester has been the stopper for Terrry Francona’s ballclub. Whenever the Red Sox have needed to end a losing streak, time and time again Lester has been there to do the job.
