Boston College Basketball: From Incredible Win to Historic Loss

 
"The North Carolina Tar Heels will go undefeated"—almost every college basketball analyst in November of 2008. The world seemingly collapsed when the unbeatable team was beaten in Chapel Hill. We have been told all year UNC would win every game by 20 points or more and would not be tested. Come on people, let's be realistic—it's a 30+ game season. Boston College stormed onto North Carolina's historic campus with one thing in mind: handing the Tar Heels their first loss. Led by guards Tyrese Rice and Rakim Sanders, the Golden Eagles put on a show on national television and dominated the entire game.  Rice put up 25, and Sanders scored 22 to put away the formerly No. 1-ranked Tar Heels 85-78. The sports world was immediately forced to answer questions such as, "Are the Heels as dominant as we thought?" or "How far can BC go with this talented backcourt?"
