Boston Theatre Debuts Production of “F%#kin’ Yankees”

 
Boston’s Old Towne Theatre debuted “F%#kin’ Yankees,” a re-make of the musical “Damn Yankees,” to a packed house on Friday night. The production features none of the original scores. Instead, the musical revolves around audience interaction. Audience members are invited to leave their seats, go up on stage and beat the cast members with wooden baseball bats. Cast members primarily take on the roles of past and current Yankees, including Babe Ruth, George Steinbrenner, Bucky Dent, (ahem) A-Rod, Derek Jeter, Aaron Boone and Roger Clemens. The music for the show is also based on audience participation; it builds slowly from individual cries of pain as the beatings begin, before rising to a cacophony of screams, expletives and demented laughter by the end of the first act.
