Boudreau on Knuble: 'He's Going to Fit In Perfectly'

I caught up with Bruce Boudreau earlier this afternoon and asked him a few questions about the Caps' newest member, Mike Knuble, and the void at second-line center. As you might imagine, Boudreau, who often groused about his forward corps' reluctance to crash the net last season, is quite pleased with the acquisition of Knuble, whose knack for parking himself at the top of the opposing team's crease and banging in rebounds is well-documented. But Boudreau said he also hopes Knuble will prove valuable in other areas, such as on special teams and locker-room leadership after the loss of Sergei Fedorov and Donald Brashear. The Caps' top six returning scorers are 25 or younger; Knuble is 37 and has seen it all over the course of 12 NHL seasons with four teams. (link)
