The Portland Trail Blazers have signed prized free agent forward Hedo Turkoglu to what is expected to be a five-year deal worth around $50 million.
The Blazers came storming out of the gate on the eve of free agency at 12:01 a.m. with an offer. The Blazers met with Turkoglu on Thursday and hammered out the parameters of a contract into today.
The terms of the contract cannot be formally announced until Wednesday as per league rules.
Turkoglu averaged 16.5 ppg last season and was a vital piece to the Orlando Magics' run to the NBA Finals.
